The teenager who prosecutors allege drove drunk during a Nov. 1 crash in which his 17-year-old friend died has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges against him. Ihor Sahan, 18, of St. Francis, was arraigned Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court on six charges related to a crash in which Ryan Petri, 17, died. Petri and Sahan were coming back from a concert in Madison. If convicted, Sahan could face more than 15 years in prison and $100,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Sahan told authorities he consumed six vodka and Gatorade drinks before driving home from the concert. Two deputies were parked on I-94 near Sunny Slope Road in Brookfield in a Waukesha County Sheriff Department squad car. Sahan was driving 74 mph …

Police released the name of the 30-year-old Waukesha driver but would not say yet why his car crossed the center line near Hollyhock Lane, striking a van driven by Candace Durdin, who later died.
Brookfield Police Friday released the identity of a driver whose car collided head-on into a minivan, killing Candace "Candy" Mae Durdin, 69, of Wauwatosa. Investigators would not comment on why Jesse A. George, 30, of Waukesha, strayed from his westbound lane into the eastbound one, striking Durdin's minivan. "The accident is still under investigation and when completed will be forwarded to the District Attorney," Police Capt. Jim Adlam said. That review will take at least another week, he said. Meanwhile, George remains hospitalized himself in stable condition. Both George and Durdin were alive and conscious when rescue personnel used the Jaws of Life to remove them and get them to Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital after the 7 p.m. …

A 49-year-old Jackson man died after his motorcycle collided with a van driven by a 16-year-old Brookfield boy Friday night near Jackson in Washington County, the Wisconsin State Patrol said.
A motorcyclist from Jackson died after colliding with a car driven by a 16-year-old Brookfield boy, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol. The crash occurred about 6:45 p.m. Friday on Pleasant Valley Road, just east of U.S. 45 near Jackson in Washington County. According to a news release from the State Patrol: Rick M. Steger, 49, of Jackson, was riding a motorcycle that collided with a 2006 Chrysler van. The van was driven by a Brookfield boy who was not immediately identified. Steger was taken via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital, where he later died from injuries. The Wisconsin State Patrol's technical reconstruction unit is investigating what caused the crash. This was my uncle. He was such a great man. R.i.p uncle Rick I love you with all my heart. I miss you so much. I can't believe your really gone. His life was taken so fast by a teenager.
