Man Charged in Fatal Drunken Driving Crash Will Stand Trial

Ihor Sahan, 18, will stand trial for his role in a drunken driving crash that killed his 17-year-old friend and injured two sheriff deputies.

A St. Francis man accused of killing his friend after crashing into a Waukesha County sheriff's deputy's squad car in Brookfield will stand trial, a court commissioner ruled Thursday. Ihor Sahan, 18, was bound over for trial by Waukesha County Court Commissioner Thomas Pieper after a brief preliminary hearing on charges he killed Ryan Petri, 17, who was a passenger in his vehicle, and injured two deputies in the Nov. 1 crash. According to the criminal complaint: Sahan was driving Petri home from a concert in Madison where Sahan admitted he consumed six vodka and Gatorade drinks. While Sahan was driving home, two deputies were parked on I-94 near Sunny Slope Road in Brookfield in a Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department’s squad car. Sahan was…

This is terrible to read. I feel for the families of both parties. Loosing the life of his friend and having to carry that guilt is is heart wrenching. At 18 years old so sad.   more ›
