Flu Cases on the Rise in Waukesha County [UPDATED]

This year's flu season is the worst in five years, and the area and state are feeling it

Influenza cases are on the rise throughout the entire country, and area schools and hospitals in Waukesha County are seeing a huge increase in the illness this year compared to last year. Waukesha Patch Facebook fans have been fighting the flu – although not everyone. While some households have been experiencing the illness and its symptoms, others have remained untouched. Flu cases in the Milwaukee area have increased to an “intense” level, significantly exceeding moderate levels in 2011-12, according to Google Flu Trends. I'm going to have to agree. I don't get a flu shot and I really never get the flu. My husband rarely gets sick and when co-workers were getting hit hard, he got hit hard and brought it home to me. 5 days of fever, basically feeling like you got hit by a steamroller and a lingering cough now into my third week.
