Free Coffee Saturday: Get Your Cup on National Coffee Day 2012

Get your caffeine on and celebrate with a free cup of coffee from Brookfield and Elm Grove businesses.

If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, "I’ll have a large coffee" — or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix — there's a national holiday created especially for you. America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame Saturday on National Coffee Day, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains. Coffee was first brought to America in the mid-1600s in a shipment en route to "New Amsterdam," now known as New York, according to the National Coffee Association. Free Coffee on 4th of July

Starbucks will give away tall cups of brewed coffee on Independence Day, aiming to spark a national conversation dubbed "indivisible" about uniting to find solutions to the country's problems.

If morning coffee is part of your plan before hitting the Fourth of July parades, you might want to swing by your local Starbucks or Caribou Coffee. Starbucks will be giving away free tall brews and Caribou will have discounted two for $4 medium drinks. In a full-page ad in major Sunday newspapers, Starbucks CEO Harold Schultz said Starbucks will be handing out free cups of coffee on the Fourth of July, and for a good reason. The ad titled "How Can America Win This Election?" talks of the country’s dwindling national spirit and political divide.
