Twinkies and Ho-Hos Still Available at Brookfield Store

But the Hostess store at 21200 Doral Road is among the many across the country that could close if Hostess Brands goes out of business, as sought in a bankruptcy filing Friday.

It’s not too late to get a Twinkie or Ho-Ho, but you might want to hurry since the Hostess outlet store, 21200 Doral Road right off Watertown Road, could be closing. Hostess Brands, makers of those and other iconic snacks, announced Friday that it filed a motion in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for permission to go out of business. The company failed to reach an agreement with striking workers, and now plans to lay off all 18,500 employees and liquidate assets. Nationally, Hostess mailed notices in May to all 18,500 Hostess Brands employees about the potential for layoffs. Brookfield Hostess Store Among Those Facing Possible Layoffs

Hostess Brands notified employees across the country, including those in Brookfield and other Wisconsin cities, that a bankruptcy restructuring might result in layoffs.

The Brookfield Hostess outlet store is among those that could face layoffs under a bankruptcy restructuring of the wholesale baking company. Famous for its Twinkies and Wonder Bread, Hostess Brands Inc. notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development that it may lay off more than 180 workers in Wisconsin, according to a report by WAOW-TV in Wausau. Nationally, Hostess mailed notices to all 18,500 Hostess Brands employees about the potential for layoffs. "The notices were sent to alert employees that a sale or wind down of the company is possible in the future," Hostess spokesman Erik Halvorson said in an statement emailed to Patch.
