Wrong-Way Driver Charged with 5th OWI

Hartland man charged with felony after driving the wrong way on Capitol Drive in Brookfield.

A Menomonee Falls police officer returning from the Waukesha County Jail Friday night prevented a possible tragedy when he pulled over a wrong-way driver in Brookfield on Capitol Drive. The driver, 48-year-old Daniel M. Goepel, of Hartland, is charged with his fifth drunken driving offense after being arrested by a Brookfield police officer. He faces up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted of the charge. According to a criminal complaint: The Menomonee Falls police officer was traveling eastbound on Capitol Drive when he saw a vehicle leave a strip mall, turn left onto Capitol Drive and travel west in the eastbound lane. Yes, this IS Excessive, but an addict gets out & goes right back at it. Their 'hard' time should be of USE. Perhaps in a program that serves a purpose, keeps them busy & Helps Community. Prison makes you sink deeper into that deficiency no matter how strong minded one is. Deprivation adds to mental 'illness'. Attempted Burglary in Falls May Be Connected to 14 Others

On Tuesday Menomonee Falls police officers pursued suspects involved an attempted burglary into Milwaukee, which eventually turned to a foot chase.

An attempted burglary that occured Tuesday in Menomonee Falls could be part of a larger ring that has committed more than a dozen break-ins since the middle of December. At approximately 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of three subjects attempting to burglarize a home in the N7200 block of Woodview Drive. The three suspects fled in a white Chevrolet conversion van when they noticed someone was home. Menomonee Falls police officers located the vehicle shortly thereafter and a chase ensued into Milwaukee near 76th Street and Villard Avenue. Falls Man Charged For Selling Stolen Razor Blades to Raise Drug Money

Suspect stole nearly $2,000 worth of razor blades from Pick 'n Save locations in Brookfield and sold the blades to a vendor at Seven Mile Fair.

A Menomonee Falls man is facing charges after police "cut" his razor blade stealing spree short. Jason R. Powell, 37, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with four counts of theft for stealing razor blades from two Pick ‘n Save locations along Capitol Drive in Brookfield during the months of April and June. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and $40,000 in fines. Powell allegedly told officers he would steal the razors and sell them to a woman who would, in turn, resell the razors at Seven Mile Fair. Powell would use the profits from her to purchase drugs. On April 13, Powell and another man went the Pick ‘n Save at 12735 W. Capitol Dr. in April and grabbed $500 worth of razor blades, put them in a shopping …
