An unknown woman somehow found the key to getting away with the goods from a local department store, leaving company security agents a bit baffled and embarrassed. A security officer at Target, 12725 Blue Mound Rd., reported to police on Jan. 19 that a review of the the week's video surveillance records showed that on Jan. 15, a woman had somehow managed to walk out of the store unnoticed with a TV set, a mini-refrigerator and a DVD player. The next day, the same woman returned and stole another large TV, also without drawing any attention from store staff. Security is now on the lookout for her should she return for another load. A 29-year-old South Milwaukee man is accused of stealing jewelry from Kmart stores across metro Milwaukee. James Paul Mesich was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of felony retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Two men — from Brookfield and Milwaukee — hit the same Sendik's twice in 48 hours to steal premium hard liquor, police reports allege.
A double shot of premium liquor thefts from a Wauwatosa Sendik's store ended in arrest for two men from Brookfield and Milwaukee, police say. The men stole four liquor bottles there Tuesday and then returned 48 hours later, when the Brookfield man fled unsuccessfully with shoplifted premium whiskey and bourbon, according to Wauwatosa police reports. The 37-year-old Brookfield man is just weeks away from completing a deferred prosecution agreement on a felony narcotics drug case and having a judge dismiss the case without a conviction, state online court records show. A Milwaukee man tried to escape Pick 'n Save after stealing formula, but was thwarted by employees, charges allege.
A shoplifter hit a grocery store manager in the head with a bag of baby formula cans while trying to escape the store, charges allege. Nathaniel Wallace, 52, of Milwaukee, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Thursday with armed robbery, battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to 16 1/2 years in prison and $70,500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: About 8 p.m. Wednesday, an employee and security officer at Pick ‘n Save, 12735 W. Brookfield police suspect a serial Waukesha shoplifter with a taste for fine meats was the thief whose latest attempted plunder was foiled by a Sendik's Fine Foods manager. According to police reports: A man was caught shoplifting two packages each of steaks and crab legs, worth about $126, about 12:30 p.m. July 20 at Sendik's on Capitol. A Sendik's manager confronted the man at his vehicle and during a tussle, grabbed the man's jacket, with the stolen meats falling out. The manager reached inside the car and grabbed another bag before the man fled. A Sussex woman is facing charges that allege she tried to steal more than $300 in groceries from a Brookfield supermarket. Ashley N. Hoffmann, 23, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 10:20 a.m. Saturday, employees at Metro Market spotted Hoffmann trying to conceal merchandise and take and steal it from the store. Bradley, 53, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of retail theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.
