8 Twelve MVP Bar and Grill Delivering More Than Food

Ryan Braun's and Aaron Rodgers' restaurant has not just given the community food, but has made it a point to give its fair share back. An event Wednesday night is part of that commitment.

They buy local. And when local tragedy hits, they try to assist. Managers at 8 Twelve MVP bar and restaurant say they want their establishment to be more than a restaurant. They're striving for a sense of community. 8 Twelve opened on June 2, 2012 in honor of two of the biggest figureheads in Wisconsin sports during this era, the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun. 8 Twelve wanted to become more than just a restaurant, said Assistant General Manager Miguel Sanchez, who helps foster this identity. ”We focus on more than just sports memorabilia here,” Sanchez said. Everything from the environment to the food on the plates is saturated with everything that is Wisconsin.  “We support the local concept and try to…

8-Twelve's Azana Spa Benefit Raises Money for Victims' Children

A charity auction was held at 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield to benefit the children of the women killed in the Azana Salon & Spa shooting.

Updated Tuesday: Today's TMJ4 says between tickets and the silent auction, 8-twelve's fundraiser raised more than $60,000 for the families of the who died in the Azana spa shooting. ______________________ A packed house at 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield Monday night raised $20,000 just in tickets — plus more from rare finds in a silent auction, such as Aaron Rodgers game-worn playoff cleats. And it was all primarily for eight people, namely the children of three mothers slain in the Oct. 21 tragedy at Azana Salon & Spa in Brookfield. Photos of the three women who worked at the spa reminded the 200 who paid $100 a piece to get in just why they were supporting the cause. Candles flickered near the photos and remembrances of Zina …

I attended this event Monday and was impressed by the number of people and the sincere interest in the affected families welfare that everyone shared. According to a Surg group email I just received: "The community and many of its friends came together Monday night, at Brookfield's 8-Twelve Restaurant, raising nearly $62,000 for the youngest victims of the Azana Spa tragedy. "Eight children were …   more ›

UPDATE: Braun/Rodgers' 8-twelve to Raise Funds for Azana

The state MVPs are planning a fund raiser dinner at their Brookfield restaurant.

Saying they wanted to help out a fellow Brookfield business enduring a senseless tragedy, 8-twelve's MVPs are planning a fundraiser for Azana Salon & Spa. The details should be released Monday, but the restaurant owned by the Brewers' Ryan Braun and Packers Aaron Rodgers plans to donate all proceeds of a dinner and silent auction to the salon, Megan Boucher, media coordinator for SURG Restaurants, told Patch. Update: Attendees will pay a per-person charge which will cover their food (via food stations) and drink, with 100 percent of that charge and all silent auction proceeds going to the Azana shooting victims' families, Boucher said. The date and more details on how to attend will be released, possibly on Monday. The estranged husband of…

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun are taking on a new venture and this time it is not on the field. It’s in the kitchen.
