Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney ordered Lynn M. Hajny, 49, of New Berlin, to serve the maximum 15 years nine months in prison, followed by five years three months on extended supervision. He sentenced Tommy V. Douyette, 43, of Milwaukee, to a 30-year prison term — 10 years less than the maximum — followed by the maximum 20 years on extended supervision. A convicted murderer can tell jurors what he alleged to police: that a Wauwatosa police clerk plotted for months with a New Berlin woman to kill and dismember a Brookfield businessman and steal his identity and wealth, a judge ruled Friday. The murder trial of Lynn Hajny will not take place next week due to a medical issue for Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney. According to court officials, Haughney is expected to be out for a couple of weeks due to a non-life threatening medical issue, requiring the trial to be rescheduled. Branch VI officials said no tentative date has been set yet for the trial, but it will be pushed back several months. A suspect in a Brookfield murder has officially decided not to opt for an insanity plea in the case, but attorneys have left the door open to the possibility of a plea agreement in the case. Lynn Hajny, 49, appeared in Waukesha County Circuit Court for the second time in a week in order to officially inform Judge Patrick Haughney she will not be seeking a change of her plea from not guilty to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. A defense attorney for a woman facing charges in the brutal murder of a Brookfield businessman said he should determine in the next month if she will plead not guilty by reason of insanity. Attorney Michael Hart told Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney Tuesday that he was still working to track down all of the past mental health records for Lynn Hajny, 49, to determine if she qualifies for the plea. One of two people charged in the murder of Brookfield businessman John Aegerter plans to change his guilty plea and drop his jury trial. Attorneys for Tommy V. Douyette, 42, had planned to argue at a motion hearing this week that he should be tried separately from co-defendant Lynn Hajny, 49. But online court records show attorneys asked Waukesha County Circuit Judge Patrick Haughney to remove the Jan. 30 jury trial for Douyette and schedule a change of plea. Statements made to police by one of two suspects charged in the murder of a Brookfield businessman will not be suppressed as the case moves forward. Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Patrick Haughney ruled Thursday that investigators did not violate the Miranda rights of Tommy Douyette, 42, after he was arrested for the murder of John C.
