Not only was the Brookfield Holiday Tree lit, but a touch of Germany was added in the celebration.

The weather was spring like and the attendance was solid for the first annual German styled - Holiday Tree lighting.

Tree Lighting, Caroling in Brookfield Village

The old village area of Brookfield, along Brookfield Road, will be kicking off the holidays with its own tree lighting ceremony.

The old village area of Brookfield, near Miller Homes, 2925 N. Brookfield Rd., will be decking out the holiday with tree lights and carols at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6th. Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto is scheduled to be on hand for the tree lighting, and youth at the Mary Linsmeier Schools day care at 2950 N. Brookfield Rd. will sing carols. Refreshments will be provided. The village area has shops and restaurants, including Vino Cappucino and Sabella's Pub and Grill.
