Two women, from Milwaukee and Charlotte, N.C., admit to cashing checks they got from the same man, police say.
Nearby $6,000 in forged checks were cashed at two Brookfield banks, at the hands of two women from Milwaukee and Charlotte, N.C., a criminal complaint alleges. Chelsea L. Lloyd, 29, of Milwaukee, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with two counts of uttering a forgery. If convicted, she faces up to six years in prison and $20,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: In August 2011, police were investigating four incidents in which checks were forged and cashed at M&I Bank, 2225 N. Calhoun Rd., and Associated Bank, 1 N. Three Milwaukee residents tried cashing forged checks at M&I Bank in Brookfield, police say.
Three Milwaukee residents are accused of passing three forged checks at a Brookfield bank. Nadia L. Clay, 28, Andrew T. Jordan, 22, and Gerald D. McLemore, 25, were charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of uttering a forgery. If convicted, they each face up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 9:31 a.m. Aug. 7, Clay went into M&I Bank, 3155 N. 124th St., and cashed a $652 check written from an account held by V&J Employment Services Inc. A Milwaukee woman bought groceries and liquor at a Brookfield Pick 'n Save using forged checks that stole another woman's identity, charges allege. Sheena D. McDade, 27, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Friday with two counts of uttering a forgery. If convicted, she faces up to six years in prison and $20,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Thursday, McDade picked up a $50 gift card, drumstick ice cream novelties and pizza rolls from the Pick 'n Save at 12735 W. Capitol Dr. and attempted to pay for the items using the identity of Princess Whitfield. Suspect tries to draw one of six stolen checks taken from a Pewaukee company.
A 53-year-old Chicago man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to pass a stolen check at a Brookfield bank. Daniel E. Mitchell was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of identity theft for financial gain and one count of uttering a forgery.
