Waukesha Sheriff's Detective Arrested for OWI in Sparta [UPDATED]

According to a report from WISN 12 News, with the detective were two Menomonee Falls officers and one Waukesha police officer.

Updated at 6 p.m. Tuesday: The Waukesha County detective being investigated for drunken driving was operating a county-owned vehicle, according to a Waukesha County Sheriff's Department news release. Deputies Helped Rescue Wounded Victims in Azana Spa Shooting

Three Waukesha County deputies were honored Wednesday by the Waukesha Optimist Club for their response to the mass shooting in Brookfield.

Waukesha County deputies Mike Doud, Robert Faith and Juan Rodriguez were among some of the first law enforcement officers at the Azana Spa & Salon shooting that left three women dead, as well as the suspect. They didn’t know where the shooter, Radcliffe Houghton, was, if he was even still alive or if he would open fire on them. Brookfield Banker Learns Teen Isn't Who He Thought

Waukesha County detective posing online as a teenage girl investigated a Milwaukee man who was sending sexual videos to the "girl" on multiple occasions, according to a criminal complaint.

A Milwaukee man, who works at a Brookfield bank, is accused of chatting with a detective posing as a 15-year-old girl and masturbating on a webcam feed he sent to the girl. Chad J. Jahn, 33, was charged Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with four counts of causing a child above age 13 to view/listen to sexual activity. If convicted, he faces up to 12 years initial confinement in prison and $40,000 in fines. A Waukesha County detective started chatting with a person who’s screen name was “paparoachcjj79,” telling the person, who was later determined to be Jahn, that the deputy was a 15-year-old girl. Man Attempted to Take Deputy's Gun After Freeway Crash, Complaint Says

Whitefish Bay man grabbed steering wheel and crashed car while his father was driving him to Rogers Memorial Hospital, according to a criminal complaint.

A 27-year-old Whitefish Bay man is accused of grabbing the wheel of his father’s vehicle while his father was driving him to an emergency psychological evaluation at Rogers Memorial, crashing the car on Interstate 94 in Brookfield, according to a criminal complaint. John A. Herbers was charged Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, attempting to disarm a peace officer and resisting an officer. If convicted, he faces nearly nine years in prison and $45,000 in fines. According to the complaint: After crashing the vehicle into a guard rail near Calhoun Road, Herbers was running back and forth in freeway traffic for a short time at 4:20 a.m. March 22. Waukesha County Sheriff Employee Investigated by Other Agency

Neither agency is releasing too much information right now in regards to the employee.

A Waukesha County Sheriff's Department employee is being investigated by the Lincoln County Sheriff, however, the details have not been released.  The Waukesha County Sheriff has launched its own "professional conduct review" of the employee, reported the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. No information will be released until both departments have completed their investigations. The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending completion of the investigation, reported the Journal Sentinel.  A email to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department sent by Patch had not been answered as of Friday afternoon.

UPDATED: Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Suicidal Man

Incident remains under investigation in Delafield neighborhood.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday with information about the sheriff's deputy and the suicidal man's identities. A 31-year-old suicidal man in Delafield was shot by a Waukesha County deputy after the man refused to drop a shotgun, according to Fox 6. The man was wounded in the incident that happened around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. He was transported to Froedtert Hospital via Flight For Life, according to the Lake Country Reporter.   The initial 911 caller told Waukesha County dispatch the suicidal man fired one shot. The incident involving the 22-year law enforcement veteran remains under investigation, according to WISN 12. The deputy was identified Wednesday as Mike Doud. Teen Dies from Injuries Suffered in Crash That Injured 2 Deputies

The 18-year-old driver is now charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Ihor M. Sahan, 18, of St. Francis, is charged with killing his friend in a car accident that injured two Waukesha County sheriff’s deputies on Interstate 94 in Brookfield on Thursday. The Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Monday it will conduct an autopsy on Sahan’s friend, 17-year-old Ryan Petri, who was transported to Children’s Hospital by Flight For Life. A criminal complaint states Petri, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained massive brain trauma from the crash. Sahan is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and two counts of misdemeanor causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. 2 Waukesha Sheriff's Deputies Injured in Freeway Accident

Suspected drunken driver hits squad car parked in median on I-94 near Sunnsyslope Road in New Berlin.

Four people — including two Waukesha County Sheriff's deputies — were injured early Thursday when a driver crashed into a squad car parked on the median on I-94. The crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. near Sunnyslope Road when a man driving a Saab east on the freeway drove into the median and struck the back of a squad car that was parked there, the Wisconsin State Patrol said. A passenger in the Saab was transported by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and two deputies in the squad were taken by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. Waukesha County Drug Unit Sees Rise in Prescription Drug, Heroin Use

Sheriff's Department captain says county had 31 fatal overdoses in 2010.

A combination of prescription drug and heroin use is on the rise in Waukesha County, leading to drug deaths in the suburban communities, according to law enforcement. “Pharmaceuticals, the diverted type, the ones that are used for not their intended purpose, that is our biggest threat in combination of heroin,” said Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Capt. Chuck Wood, during Thursday evening's Drug Free Communities Waukesha County presentation at Steinhafels Furniture. The problem with prescription drugs is that people tend to view them as safe drugs, Wood said, but then become addicted to the substances.
