A city engineer facing charges for a violent altercation with his wife now faces more charges after police say he drove drunk through Menomonee Falls.
A Brookfield engineer already charged with four felonies stemming from an altercation with his wife has yet another felony charge issued against him after police say he drove drunk through Menomonee Falls. John A. Laning, 40, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court last Monday with one count of felony bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Saturday, a Menomonee Falls police officer was on patrol when he spotted Laning doing 40 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour speed zone and then pulled him over near Appleton Avenue and Jacobson Drive. A 21-year-old Brookfield man is accused of driving the wrong way down I-43 Saturday morning, leading Milwaukee County sheriff’s deputies on a chase to near the Racine County line to catch up with him. Joshua P. Klawikowski was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of second-degree reckless endangerment of safety. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Early Saturday morning, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department began receiving numerous calls about a person driving south in the northbound lanes of I-43 just south of downtown. A 24-year-old Brookfield man ran from police and crashed into Wauwatosa restaurant after he failed to negotiate a turn at 100 miles per hour on Capitol Drive at North 124th Street, charges allege.
A Brookfield man with a February drunken driving conviction was intoxicated early Sunday when he led police on a high-speed chase, eventually smashing into a Qdoba restaurant in Wauwatosa, charges allege. Andrew J. Brumage, 24, was charged Monday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with fleeing police and causing damage, second-offense operating while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle after revocation of his license. If convicted, he faces up to 7½ years in prison and $13,600 in fines.
