Abundant prayers for Cookie and her family. The Doctors, Nurses, Technicians, researchers at Children's Hospital, Froedtert Hospital, Blood Center of Wi, Be The Match (National Marrow Donor Program) and the Center for Intl. Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (at the Medical College of Wisconsin) are all most amazing people. You don't appreciate them until you face a medical crisis. We have seen 1st -hand their special gifts of care and healing. Join the Marrow donor registry, it's only a cheek swab. People of all nationalities are needed. The life you save could be someone you know and love.

I am very familiar with the Briar Hills subdivision. While I don't live there, I am a Realtor and have assisted several home owners in selling their homes. The St Luke's property has always been well maintained, and the open land was appealing to homeowners looking to move into the area. But to suddenly build a "care facility" literally in the back yards of several of the homes is ridiculous. If this facility is built behind St Luke's, it will have a detrimental affect on the saleability of the homes in the subdivision, thus reducing their value. With homeowners already reeling from the negative effects of the economy, to add this burden on to them is unbelievably unfair. It would make much more sense for St Luke's to offer this land to a developer to divide it into residential lots, and keeping with the flow of the surrounding neighborhood. There are plenty of other plats that would be better suited to a large care facility- without negatively impacting families..
