@Johnny.... I would take Howell Ave all the way down and stay going straight at the 6 Mile Rd bend..... Google Map it..... .a few zigs and zags but you can make it all the way down to Hwy 20 and then pick up 94 from there....

How many high end properties would you say are in OC? 1 or 2 at best. Are there any unique properties here like in the Third Ward? This location has alot to offer... it's close enough to Milwaukee, close enough to Racine, it's close to the airport, the Amtrak station, and with great freeway access... and don't forget OC has some decent companies..like Caterpillar and Masterlock... as well as NM is only 2 miles away from the site. I definitely can see alot of younger professionals moving out here and bringing their wild spending habits to the OC. I am very very familar with the types of people moving into all of the properties in OC... if it looks cool and is trendy... people will move in. Once they start having families, then naturally they will look to OC to buy or build.... just some food for thought.

A couple things I noticed though in the article are pretty stupid comments....

First... City officials say stoplights are planned for the Howell Avenue entrance and at 6th Street and Drexel Avenue.

FYI there already are stop lights at that intersection.... wonder who the wise city officials are there?

Second "From a traffic standpoint, "all roads will lead" to the town square, said Matt Rinka, the architect for the project."

Hey Matt, have you been to the site at all? Howell already has too much traffic, the west end of the site is bound by the train tracks, the south side leads to Liberty Ln which would even more screw up the intersection of Liberty Ln and Puetz... the exissting 6th St comes in from an industrial park... lol.. so by all roads do you mean Drexel and Howell Aves?

@PaulRevere unfortunately your #1 example doesnt nearly have the same affect as it did 30 years ago. Back then, that money not collected in taxes would be spent on products actually manufactured here so the multiplier was even higher. Not only would they spend the money on those products, but their neighbors would make more money in their jobs at the companies that produce those products. We unfortunately screwed ourselves because we were all looking for cheaper products.

Regarding the Post Office, they just need to shut it down. With the dramatic changes in how we communicate, we just don't need it anymore. When was the last time anyone got anything in the mail worthwhile anyways? If it's important, FedEx can do it for $9.95.... or probably less now.

The OC rental market has been strong for years... these will be filled up fast. What companies are interested in building out here? I could see Mandel being a good fit, or maybe Fiduciary... neither have anything around here. Most of the other major players in the area all have a strong presence already in the city.

lol... wow, that headline is totally misleading. Coming in at 1660 of 2500 reporting isn't really something to brag about. OCHS finished just ahead of a virtual hs in Waukesha... and behind some Charter schools....
