Nora Collins Nabs Second Consecutive Win for WAMI “Rising Star”
The Brookfield native has once again won a WAMI Award. She has a number of exciting shows coming up this summer.
Nora Collins of Brookfield was named the 2013 ”Rising Star” award winner at the 33rd annual WAMI Awards.
This is Collin’s second consecutive win in the “Rising Star” category. The 18-year-old was also nominated for “Female Vocalist of the Year.”
Wisconsin Area Music Industry, an organization that promotes Wisconsin music, held the awards ceremony on Sunday at Turner Hall.

Collins has a busy summer schedule that includes opening for country music star Josh Turner on July 25 at the Washington County Fair and a July 2 Summerfest date at the Uline Warehouse stage. She is also slated to perform at Lakefront Festival of Arts, Bastille Days, Waukesha County Fair and the Wisconsin State Fair.
She has written and recorded a new single, “I’ll Pray For You” that she is making available as a free download. Also the music video for her original song "Dimples Filled With Lies" continues to air nationally on The Country Network.
